Hadron spectra for semileptonic heavy quark decay.
We calculate the leading perturbative and power corrections to the hadronic invariant mass and energy spectra in semileptonic heavy hadron decays. We apply our results to the B system. Moments of the invariant mass spectrum, which vanish in the parton model, probe gluon bremsstrahlung and nonperturbative effects. Combining our results with recent data on B meson branching ratios, we obtain a lo...
متن کاملMeasurement of electrons from semileptonic heavy-flavor hadron decays
The pT-differential production cross section of electrons from semileptonic decays of heavy-flavor hadrons has been measured at midrapidity in proton-proton collisions at ffiffi s p 1⁄4 2.76 TeV in the transverse momentum range 0.5 < pT < 12 GeV=c with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The analysis was performed using minimum bias events and events triggered by the electromagnetic calorimeter. Pre...
متن کاملFinal State Interaction in Heavy Hadron Decay
Though nothing is known for B → ππ,Kπ,KK, we might conjecture that the FSI phases diminish as the initial mass increases. Meanwhile the relative FSI phase is known for the ggg and ”γ” decay amplitudes of the J/ψ decays: 3 ∆δ ≈ 90 and 75 for J/ψ → 00 and 01, respectively. Therefore, if the FSI phases diminish with the increasing initial mass, it should start diminishing somewhere between mJ/ψ an...
متن کاملSum Rules Calculation of Heavy Λ Semileptonic Decay
We set up sum rules for heavy lambda decays in a full QCD calculation which in the heavy quark mass limit incorporates the symmetries of heavy quark effective theory. For the semileptonic Λ c decay we obtain a reasonable agreement with experiment. For the Λ b semileptonic decay we find at the zero recoil point a violation of the heavy quark symmetry of about 20%.
متن کاملThe determination of |Vcb | from semileptonic inclusive decay rates
The following talk is based on research done in collaboration with Patricia Ball [1]. In the recent years the study of HQET, the effective theory of QCD expanded in inverse powers of the heavy quark massmQ, has considerably enlarged our understanding of low–energy QCD. Bigi, Uraltsev and Vainshtein [2] have started to apply HQET to inclusive processes and have been succeeded by many authors. Tw...
